What could being at a water park mean in a dream?

Dream 478: Have fun, but avoid the strings attached or it could lead to a long slide

A man had the following dream:

“So I had a fairly weird dream this morning/yesterday night..

In one portion of my dream, I dreamed that I was texting my crush(I’m a guy and my crush is a girl), and we both had a good time texting each other(she joked around with me and in my dream, I believe I was smiling).

The other portion of my dream involves me being at a water park/resort with my friends. I saw a ton of light blue and there were these structures with ropes hanging around and I climbed them effortlessly(although there were mishaps here and there). I also went down a long slide.

What does this dream mean?”

Interpretation

A woman usually represents the emotional side of a dreamer. Men usually represent more of an action part of your mind in a dream. It sounds like you are logically working out how to combine your actions with your emotions in the first part which sounds pleasant actually.

So the dream announces at the beginning that this is going to be about how to combine your actions with your emotions in regard to your social life. It takes you to a waterpark with friends. Water virtually always represents emotions in dreams. The dream, I think, is giving a mild warning.

Blue is the color of the sky and I think of it as representing freedom and unlimited possibility. I think it is giving a warning with the the ropes that you will be given opportunities with your friends, and you will be able to enjoy them for the most part, but one mustn’t forget that there are strings attached.

I see this dream as being all about your own integration of emotion and action vs how much to play the social game that could have strings attached. The strings could lead to some mishaps, although you will probably mostly have fun. The final warning is the long slide. Playing the game too long could lead to a slide in your social life.

Take it for what it’s worth as I do not know you.

What does a bridge, a river, a door, and a girlfriend not recognizing you, mean in a dream?

Bridging the Gap
Bridging the Gap

Dream 383: The Emotion Just Is Not There

A man had the following dream:

“I’ve been having this recurring dream and i’m not sure what to make of it…Until a few months ago i’ve been in a relationship with this girl and we would meet very rarely since she lives far far away.

In this dream, i’m rushing to a place where we supposedly said we would meet, first in a cab, then on foot. It looks a bit like the park in my city but it’s not quite it. I think it’s autumn time, leaves all around the pavement, few passers-by.

The realisation comes to me that i don’t really know the exact spot where i’m supposed to go… I’m starting to run late and i get a little agitated. Then, starting to cross a bridge over a small stream, I see a door in the middle of it, nothing else, just a door standing there. Somehow the idea that i’m supposed to enter it hits me. “This is the place where people go to find each other” or something similar comes into my mind suddenly.

I enter the door and there’s something like a small waiting room, a clinic or hospital waiting room by the looks of it. There’s light coming from the windows but i can’t see anything outside of it. There are these benches crammed full of people and people leaning against the walls. I think to myself if she’s here i’ll have a hard time finding her.

But i find her right away, and as i’m standing no more than 3 meters away she looks around as if looking for someone, and she keeps looking right passed me as if i’m not really there. I think to myself maybe she didn’t see me, but what if she just changed her mind and she’s just pretending? Should I just go and tap her on the shoulder or walk away? But I go towards her, in spite of having to push aside people passing by… I get nervous and i always wake up. There are always small variations in the dream but it’s mostly the same.”

My Interpretation

A reoccurring dream is usually very significant because it represents a situation where your subconscious has repeatedly tried to solve a situation or problem.

In this dream and in most dreams, a bridge usually represents a major passage in life. Something has materially happened to change your life.

You are crossing over water, a small stream. Water is emotions usually and rivers or streams usually represent the river of life.

This is not a massive river but a small stream. That indicates that you’re trying to bridge the gap over emotions that probably are not there as much as they should be, that it is more important to bridge the gap than it is to make it over massive emotions.

The door probably represents the opening to solving your conflicts over losing her.

A clinic is a place where people come to get healed. Your subconscious seems to see the issue as you getting over her. The emotion again is not there, so she does not recognize you.

You then try to make your way past people to get to her. The dream does not say this outright, but I think it may be hinting that it is time to give up the chase, and to invest yourself in the people you are passing by.

This sounds painful, but is a passage in your life and your challenge is to bridge the gap, and not chase something that emotionally is not there.

Take it for what its worth because this is without knowing you and you should glean what seems to be true to yourself.

What does going to the beach, the ocean, land, and your mother wanting to talk to you mean in a dream?

Where conscious thoughts merge with subconscious desire
Where conscious thoughts merge with subconscious desire

Dream 357: Where the Land Meets the Sea

“I had a dream last night. We, my husband and I were driving to the beach and as usual We took a wrong turn. We kept driving and although I became a little impatient Jim assured me that he knew where he was going. We turned down a small Ocean front road and followed the road until the end, We pulled into a driveway of a cozy little beach cottage and I asked him why we were there. Our destination was at least 25 miles away. He just smiled and said he wanted to surprise me. I knocked on the door and an old friend of mine Gay answered the door. I saw a long red sofa and a woman was walking from the hallway very angry, she didn’t speak but walked up and down the hallway. Gay told me to come out to the patio and sit for a while and when we opened the door the place was beautiful. All white wicker furniture, flowers everywhere, you could here the ocean roar and the birds sing. The sun was bright but it was as if the heat from it was filtered. I saw a woman walk towards me from the side and smile. It was my Mother who I had lost 19 yrs. ago. She looked so healthy and at peace and gave me a warm hug. She kept saying she was where she should be and was ok. She also said she needed to tell me something but my alarm clock thought otherwise.”

Interpretation

The dream starts out that she is going to the beach with her husband. Both an emotional part of her mind(herself as a woman) and an action part of her mind (often represented by a husband in a dream) are going to a place where consciousness meets the subconscious, the beach.

Land usually represents the conscious, while the best symbol we have for the subconscious is the ocean. Every character is a part of the dreamer’s mind with men representing actions and women representing emotions usually. That is not always true, but is usually the case.

The beach is the place where one works out conflicts and integrates the subconscious with the conscious world. She does not make it to the beach. She stops 25 miles inland which is to say the dream is addressing how things are done consciously now.

She meets an old friend Gay who is a woman. Gay represents something very close to herself and the red couch indicates passion is involved as red is usually either intense love or intense anger. In this case, I think the dream is going to talk about her need for romance.

The place becomes very beautiful and romantic and idyllic. She meets her beloved mother whom I suspect wants to tell her how to integrate her conscious word with her subconscious emotions, i.e., she might be wanting to give the dreamer advice about how to merge romance into her everyday life especially if she was good at doing that in her own life.

What does floating mean in a dream?

Walking in the https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OZb5duiufLI
Walking in the air https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OZb5duiufLI

Dream 329: Floating High

A 50 something man described having a dream that he always remembered even years later. When he was an elementary school boy, he dreamed repeatedly that he was floating above trees. From the sky,he viewed his friend and himself walking through the neighborhood on the sidewalk. He felt like he was actually floating in reality.

Interpretation

Dreaming that you’re floating is not as powerful as flying, but it is significant. The fact that it was a recurrent dream, a dream that occurs repeatedly, emphasizes that it was an important or “big” dream. Floating usually means that the dreamer felt content with the situation, that he was literally “floating on air” at that time.

Trees are a primary symbol of integration which means the dreamer felt pretty together personally back then. Having a friend in a dream is many times a dreams way of doubling the dreamer. The dream was doubling down on the importance of his feelings in the dream.

Alternative explanations of the dream involve it being a lucid dream or an out-of-body experience. These explanations are very speculative; however, it would explain the huge impact these dreams had on him. Decades later, he could remember this dream like it happened yesterday.

Dream 273: Be A Man

images(3)Dream 273: A 33-year-old man dreamt that he fathered a child with his younger brother’s girlfriend.

Interpretation

To begin to take this dream apart, one has to realize that each character in the dream represents a part of the dreamers psyche or mind. Men tend to go with action part while women usually represent emotional parts of the mind.

The first step is to find out what his brother and his girlfriend separately represent to the dreamer. His brother was younger and impulsive and extroverted and social. So his brother represents action. The dreamer himself was a passive accountant who was introverted.

So the dream is calling for the dreamer to be more extroverted and somewhat impulsive. His subconscious is trying to move him from being passive into being more actively involved with others. A new baby represents a new part of the dreamer’s mind. In that way, it represents new potential that is being developed.

This is what the dream means on the first level. The dream is also true on the second or interpersonal level. He recently started to date a woman who used to date his younger brother. She was very extroverted and social. The dream was calling for him to develop the qualities of being more social while giving approval to his recent dating. When both levels collapse together like that, we call it condensation.

Flatlining and I Feel Fine

tmp_heart-rate-monitor-500x312-907663147Dream 241: Flatlining is Not Always Bad

A 62-year-old woman dreamt that she was on an acute care ward because she had a heart attack. She was watching the monitor to which she was connected and saw it “flatline.” She realized that she died. Strangely, she felt overjoyed.

Dream 241–Interpretation

She dated a boyfriend who was ambivalent about leaving his long-term cohabitant, who did not love him. His current live-in girlfriend was using him for his money. The dreamer was frustrated that she could never get him to see that it was in his best interest to leave her and dwell with the dreamer.

The dream used a heart attack to show her heart was broken. The machine was giving a reading of the condition of her heart. The flat line in this case indicates stability and harmony as it is not fluctuating wildly.

The fact that she died means that her old way of handling matters of the heart died. She decided to assert herself and tell him exactly how she felt. He responded positively and their relationship changed in a major way. She was overjoyed with their new relationship which was now filled with meaningful and truthful discussions.

The Love Triangle

images(19)146147910Dream 229: Three’s a Crowd

A 19-year-old man dreamt an image of an apartment. The single enclosed bathroom was in the middle of the apartment. The rest of the apartment was vague and indistinct except featured prominently were a urinal and a toilet in the open.

Dream 229—Interpretation

He lived with his girlfriend in an apartment where a former lover supposedly now turned just-a-roommate also lived. His girlfriend was consistent in her stance that any sign of a former love relationship with her old boyfriend was nonexistent in her mind; however, it was clear to the dreamer that the old boyfriend still loved the woman.

Urinals and toilets get rid of toxic waste we no longer need and must eliminate. Dreams metaphorically use toilets and urinals as a sign that toxic emotions (water is invariably emotions in dreams) and other toxic stuff (euphemism) needs to be eliminated from the dreamer’s life. There is more emphasis on negative emotions being discarded because a urinal is used only to get rid of waste water (it is uncommon to see urinals outside of healthcare or commercial establishments).

It is an interesting side note that the dreamer and girlfriend had no trouble sharing a bathroom and being quite “open” about it. Her old boyfriend was adamant about keeping the bathroom private which is why the dream isolates and encloses one of the toilets.

Focus On Your Music and Get Rid of the Stuff

Dream 197: Get Rid of This Stuff and Play Music

A 19-year-old man dreamedOasis_drummer he was going to a shopping mall to find his high school girlfriend that recently broke up with him. He went to a pet store where she worked in the dream. She was cleaning out an animal cage. She ignored him. Her back was to him and she focused on music that was blaring from a speaker.

Dream 197 Interpretation

Dreams that start out in shopping malls are typically announcing that the dream is going to be about how the dreamer was “mauled” in life, in this case by his girlfriend. It is important to remember that each character in the dream is a part of the dreamer’s psyche. The girlfriend in the dream is the part of his psyche or emotions that dealt with this girlfriend.

That it occurs in a store that sells domesticated pets indicated that the dream was about how she affected his affections and instincts. That it was in a commercial establishment implied that the dream was concerned about how it affected his business which was music. The setting of the dream often points to the part of the dreamer’s life that is being affected.

The dream is blatantly urging him to ignore her and get rid of the stuff (euphemism since the part of his psyche that dealt with her was cleaning feces from animal cages) about his instinctual sexual and affectionate feelings toward her. The dreamer was a drummer for a recording studio. The dream was urging him to focus on his music.

Is She Good or Bad for Me: The Ancient Question

imagesDream 189: Is She Good or Bad for Me?

A 33-year-old man dreamt that he was relaxing in an open green field. He was lying on his back and looking up to the sky and the surrounding beautiful natural fields enveloped within shelter belts. Every so often a presence or force appeared above him. He was trying to figure out if it was a force associated with his beautiful girlfriend that he loved very much or whether it was a dark and insidiously evil force. In any case, he felt that it was a very powerful force.

Dream 189–Interpretation

He was the survivor of two disastrous divorces after short marriages where his wives were obviously using him for his wealth. He was in therapy because he found it difficult to trust his girlfriend whom he previously dated in high school. She was beautiful and talented and had played games with him dating wise in high school.

Their reunion was very different from what happened in high school. His girlfriend’s previous arrogance transformed to empathy because she suffered a previous emotionally abusive relationship. He felt he could trust her now, but was cautious because of their history in high school and his relatively recent divorces.

The dream indicated the progress he was making in psychotherapy. He recently was trying to relax more around his girlfriend. The scene of the dream told what happens when he relaxes about his girlfriend as it occurred in a beautiful natural scene where he was physically relaxed.

The image that appears above him is his shadow. Almost all major changes in psychotherapy involve the shadow. The dream was giving him an up close look at his shadow on his girlfriend.

He was subconsciously worried how his girlfriend would affect him if he allowed her to be predominant (above him) in his life. Lying down with stomach up is a classic submission pose among animals. That she was close enough to be considered on a par with his shadow verified the current depth of their relationship.

Addicted to Love

Dream 182: Addicted to Love

A 36-year-old man dreamed he was meeting with his Tai Chi Master.  The Master was exalting the dreamer to live by the precepts of Tai Chi.  This philosophy emphasized measured thinking before taking action.

The dreamer heard an overriding voice that urged him to “Stay Here!”  The dreamer ignored the voice and went off with a prostitute.  He was making out with the woman when he looked to his left and saw his new live-in girlfriend.  The girlfriend was looking at him like she depended on him for everything.  She had also gained 200 pounds.

Dream 182–Interpretation

He had serial disaster relationships where the woman he was involved with depended upon him for everything.  He was trying to take it slower with his new live-in girlfriend.  The Tai Chi Master represented the shift in his actions in relationships toward deliberate and thought out movement.

His lust with the prostitute represented his tendency to become overindulging with women he was sexually involved.  That the girlfriend becomes an obese giant while he is making out with the prostitute reflected his indulging dependence within himself and within the relationship.  The relationships in the past depended excessively upon upon himself which he expected back then.

The suggestion of this dream was that he needed to stay with deliberate and thought out actions in relationships to prevent creating an overly dependent glutton within himself and within relationships.

You’re Pretty, But I Am Smart

Pretty Woman, Smart ManDream 176: Pretty Woman, Smart Man

A 24-year-old woman was a high fashion model and was very beautiful. She dreamt that her boyfriend was showing her a female friend who was in the same graduate program that he was. The friend was plain looking and smart.
This friend intensely admired the dreamer’s boyfriend. The dreamer wondered why her boyfiend was making such a big deal about his graduate school friend.

Dream 176–Interpretation
It is important to remember that each character in the dream represents a part of the dreamer’s psyche. The part of her that was involved with her boyfriend was advising her to behave emotionally somewhat more like his female (emotions) fellow graduate student toward him. He wanted to be admired for his brains which would counterbalance the relationship somewhat.
He felt she had all the power in the relationship because she was beautiful and rich. He was more uncertain regarding his future and his prospects for success. He wanted her to support his hope that he too would be successful in his own right.
