What might Gnats, Fruitflies, Furniture, and Shoes mean in a dream?

Dream 459: These Little Annoying Things Are Getting Old and Stale

A woman had the following dream:

“I had a dream I was in a type of living room or waiting area.   A man came in that I’ve never seen before.  He laid down on the chair and he was eating something.  I went to get my shoes and there were other shoes.  When I bent down there was a lot of gnats or fruit flies (I think it was gnats because they were black).  It looked like the gnats were above the shoes.I tried hitting them away. It ended there.Thank you.”

Interpretation

At the first level of dream interpretation, each character represents a part of hour mind. Men usually go more with an action part of the mind.  Food usually signals psychological support or nurturance.

Furniture and shoes each support us in different ways. Shoes, in particular support your actions and trying to move forward. I think black shoes are more likely to represent financial support as black is often associated with business attire.

Gnats represent little annoying things whose pestilence is feeding on old and stale things. Gnats usually come around things that are decaying and decrepit, around things that are really getting old and stale fast. Gnats symbolize small annoying things that are feeding upon your active support, your shoes.

If it is a symbolic dream, a man eating who sits on the chair while eating with furniture and shoes involved indicates that a part of you or a part of your actions that were nurturing and supportive are feeling walked upon. It also probably indicates things are getting really old and decadent fast. In other words, you may be tired of a situation where you are the one expected to do supportive actions and the negative effect it is having upon you.

The black shoes could possibly imply more of a business or finance part of yourself. So the question would be “Have you been financially or otherwise supportive to someone, and it is getting kind of old if you know what I mean?” These Little things are really starting to “bug” you.

What can a ghost, furniture, and a house mean in terms of relationships in a dream?

Dream 409: The ghost of relationships past

A woman had the following dream:

“I need guidance if possible on what this dream meant..

So I dreamt I was not a ghost but invisibly present in my ex and I’s home, which is just his home now. And I noticed little upgrades, for example I thoroughly noticed little ottomans that were black and white stripe, three of them, and also noticed a very high techy fancy massage chair, very similar to the one the gentleman I was dating recently has in his home. That was the whole dream. Very odd, can anybody give me clarity on this one?”

Interpretation

I would suggest that at the first level, the ghost may represent the observing ego part of yourself.

In this case, I think it is very hard to separate the first and second levels of interpretation so I’m going to mix the two together. The first level is within the dreamer’s own psyche. The second level is interpersonal.

The house usually represents the dreamer because it is the framework of which one lives. Furniture usually represent what supports you in your life since furniture supports your body. In this case, I think this particular house because you and an ex lived in it more specifically represents the relationship part of your life.

I think the Ottomans being black and white to me suggest it is more clear what you want and what you don’t want in a supportive relationship. The dream is giving high grades to relationships that are supportive of a modern and soothing relationship. It may also be giving recognition to the idea that the next relationship needs to be modern and physically supportive.

This interpretation may only work in certain universes and is limited by my limited experience which includes my not personally knowing you.

The dreamer later confirmed that the interpretation “sounded about right.”
