What might being bitten by a dog in a dentist office mean?

Dream 463: Do I need to be less verbally aggressive?

A woman had the following dream:

“I had the weirdest dream! I was taking care of my brother who had recently become paralyzed ( in the dream, pray that doesn’t ACTUALLY happen) I had to bring him to my regular cleaning dental appointment. As the dental hygeniest walked away to obtain her tools or whatever, this dog ( yes, in THE DENTIST OFFICE) comes bites me on the leg and arm aggressively. So the Hygeniest comes back behaving nonchalntly about the incindent, as if what just happened shouldn’t be a concern! I’m thinking, “WHY IS THERE EVEN A DOG IN A DENTAL OFFICE!”

Interpretation

At the first level of dream interpretation, each person in the dream is a part of your mind. Men tend to go more with action parts of the Mind. Animals usually represent your instincts. This dream is all about teeth in many ways.

First you were getting your teeth cleaned. Secondly, the dog attacks you with teeth. I think in this case, the teeth are being recognized as a defensive or aggressive part of your personality. That your brother is paralyzed, I believe, means that the dream does not want you to act on anger you may have towards some situation. What is notable about this is I think your subconscious doesn’t want you to react with anger even if others are showing anger towards you in a certain situation.

Your subconscious wants you to keep everything clean and above board, at least above the jawline, which I think is a way of emphasizing there that wants you to not show aggression too much in what you say.

In this case, the dream may be overly dramatic to make a point. That is, someone may attack you in anger verbally, but your subconscious believes it will be healing for you not to react in anger. The reason I think healing is involved is because a medical professional is involved.

The dental hygienist represents the part of you that wants you to clean up your mouth, to put it frankly, because dreams are seldom subtle about making a point. The reason I believe it is mostly verbal anger is because the mouth is involved, both in regard to your teeth being cleaned, and the dog attacks you with its mouth.

Dream 237: I’m Not Going to Abuse Substances

A 42-year-old woman dreamt that she was on a horse with her best friend who was a dentist now. The horse stumbled and the dreamer fell down an Alice-in-Wonderland hole. She then was with a hostile ex-husband who was in bed with her.

There was a man who was dark and shadowy at the end of the bed who pointed a gun at her and shot her. She then was in a medieval banquet hall. It was filled with her friends and friends of her daughter.

Interpretation

Horses are often a symbol of female sexual power or vitality. Having her best friend in the dream was a way of doubling the dreamer. That her friend is now a dentist indicated that healing, physical healing, was on the table.

Falling into the Alice-in-Wonderland hole meant that her reality completely changed. That she was with an ex-husband who she was alcoholic with during the time she was with him was significant. In the dream, she was shot by her shadow which indicated that she was not going to return to her previous ways of drinking and being addicted.

At the time of the dream, she had started to take back pain pills because she had injured her back severely. The dream indicated her subconscious worried that she might abuse substances. The last scene indicates that she need not worry. She was treated to a banquet which was compensation for her subconscious being too severe in worrying about substance dependence.
