What does it mean when a deceased relative hugs you in a dream?

Dream Vision 402: Hang in There Baby

I dreamed hat my deceased brother-in-law hugged me as i was leaving the hospital after visiting my wife who was a patient there.

Interpretation

My wife was having a number of medical difficulties. She was hospitalized right before I had this dream. What was different about this dream was the feeling of touch. I had the feeling that I actually was physically hugged by him.

The deceased brother-in-law in the dream was a doctor in real life who was totally loved by his wife, family of eight children, and the world. He was a strong and empathetic healer. He gave encouragement and clear direction to all that knew him.

One major type of dream is what I call a vision dream. People typically report that they feel is more of a vision than a dream. I could vividly see him and had the sensation of being physically hugged.

What sets these dreams apart is the sensation part of it. The vision or seeing of the person seems more vivid. The sense of touch is usually filled which does not occur in many dreams actually.

Sometimes people indicate they can even smell the familiar person. The vivid image of him in extraordinary detail and the physical feeling of touch were in this dream. I usually do not have dreams like this.

It is memorable the few times they do happen. It always seems to be significant to what is happening in the outside world or in reality. On the other hand, what is the ultimate reality?

Theoretical physicists tell me that there are at least 10 dimensions plus time. We see only three of them. They say that it is all happening here right now . I believe that leaves a lot of room for spiritual interpretation of visions like this one.

Her Paint Wears Thin

Dream 230: The Paint Is Wearing Thin

Analyst Jeremy Taylor in his book, Where People Fly and Water Runs Uphill, described a woman who was terrorized by a recurrent dream in which the white paint of her house was bubbling up and peeling away. She felt strangely horrified by this dream and would awaken each time she had it.

Dream 230—Interpretation

Recurrent dreams are “big” dreams because they usually represent the dreamer trying to solve repetitive and similar problems at different points in the dreamer’s lifetime. The house can represent the dreamer because that was the framework out of which she lived. White in almost all cultures is the most spiritual color as it is representative of “the light.”

The paint bubbling away meant that she was at those times feeling hypocritical. Her spiritual veneer or what she showed to the outside world was wearing off and exposing her inner worn surface. That the paint was “bubbling” off indicated that she felt internal anger that threatened to surface. This possibility horrified her.
