“It’s always the last day of high school and the building is clearing out. The hallway is trashed. I’m getting my stuff out of my locker and going to my car. The hallways still have a few other students in it. I’ve had this dream before. What does it mean? Thanks”
It seems that dreams are fascinated with high school. I believe this is for two reasons. The main one being that it is a play on the words “high school.”
Dreams, I believe, look at high school as a metaphor for “a school for our higher self.” It is also because this is a major developmental stage in life that sets the foundation for all else that happens the rest of our lives.
I believe your subconscious is giving you a vote of confidence. I believe you have probably learned many lessons for your higher self.
This is encouragment to not dwell in the past, to clean out your locker and get in your vehicle and go forward in life.
If it were my dream, it sounds like it is encouragment to go forward when your subconscious feels that you’ve learned all the lessons from a situation, that your higher self needed to learn from a situation.
It sounded like it is a repetitive dream. Repetitive dreams are big dreams, because you’ve once again reached a stage that has happened before, a place where your subconscious feels that you’ve learned all that you can from a given situation and should move on.
So in that way, when you have a dream like this, it is both giving you recognition for what you’ve accomplished, and gives you encouragement to move forward.
Dreams can help you move on at http://www.drstevenfox.com
A man dreamed that he was with a group of people. He thought they were friends, but they did not have faces. They were walking around in a building trying to get to the next floor, but then some guy came through the front door and shot him in the back of the head. He woke up right away and wondered what it meant.
Each living thing in the dream usually represents a part of of the dreamers personality. Men tend to go with action parts of the dreamer’s mind. Women tend to go with emotional parts of the dreamer’s mind. People without faces would be parts of yourself that you’re less familiar with, or at least for some reason, you don’t recognize right now within yourself.
The man that shoots you in the back of the head is notable for several reasons. The 1st being that it is an action part of the dreamer’s mind that is a causing some trouble. It would be a shadow aspect of his personality because it is violent.
The shadow is involved in change. He shoots him in the back of the head for a reason. I believe it is because that is where the occipital lobe Is located, that is the part of your brain that helps you to see.
Floors in a building typically represent different levels of consciousness. For instance, going up a flight would indicate that you’re trying to reach a higher level of consciousness, a more expanded view of the world, or at least a different view of the world.
I believe the dream is saying that there is something about the way he is looking at things that is preventing him from going to the next level of consciousness, whatever that is. It might be that he is not seeing people for who they are which would also explain why they have no faces. The shadow is saying that he has to change the way he is looking at things to go to a higher level of consciousness or a different perspective of looking at things.
The dream does not indicate what issue this would would be, although it may have some to do with school, or a financial or business area of his life, because it sounds like it is probably in a commercial building. If it is in a residence, it would indicate that the problem is more residential or close to home. Anyway, The type of building it is might give some hint as to which area of his life the dream is talking about.
The dream is going out of its way to exaggerate that he must change the way he is looking at things, that he must take decisive action to do so. I would feel this as a starting point to look at this dream as it obviously needs more fleshing out to get to specifics which at this point the dream really isn’t doing. “I had a dream just before I woke up this morning in which I had somehow acquired a large mansion or palace in the UK, in or near London. In the dream, I knew it had been the former residence of the King/Queen of England, and it had a lot of red brick. If it is an actual place, I have never been there or seen it in a photo. I was the only one there and was looking around, wondering, “what am I going to do with all of this?” It was in good condition but would obviously require a lot of upkeep. -This dream is symbolic, as are most dreams, and I won’t be unpacking there to live in it. However, I am now considering where I want to live. I doubt it will be in London, let alone in a former royal palace. But, the size and history of the palace may indicate for me a more influential presence abroad. This “palace” could house a lot of people, doing a lot of things, for many types of benefits to others. -Any thoughts?www.drstevenfox.com”
To go really symbolic here and teeter on the edge, a place where you’re thinking of living can represent your future Self. I wonder if you are in the process of restoring yourself in some kind of way. To help you restore things that you’ve lost maybe or try to change things back to the way they were in some way. The idea is that it would be something about either restoring your situation, your relationships, yourself, or your activities somehow in some way they used to be in the illustrious or better parts of your past.
The dreamer later told me that the dream interpretation was more correct than I would ever know.

“In this dream there was a woman wearing her ring on her left index finger. I asked her “are you married”, and she said yes. It was a gold wedding band. She told me that she used to wear it on her right index finger but due to swelling she had to take it off and switch to the left index finger. I told her that it’s still wrong if she’s married it should be on her left ring finger, and I told her why. I explained the heart vein finger thing, and she switched it and said thank you.
I looked up a couple of interpretations online and I don’t have my book right now so all of it is kind of jumbled. Does anybody have any insight? All is welcomed.”
There are several unusual things about this dream and when there is something out of the ordinary or not customary in a dream, the question becomes, why did the dream find it necessary to do that? Men tend to go with the dreamer’s actions while women tend to go with the dreamer’s emotions. Marriage represents the union of the dreamer’s actions with the dreamer’s emotions. A marriage represents a state of integration or having your stuff together.
A ring is a symbol of commitment. It’s made from a precious material, gold. It is circular and a circle usually represents the soul, because it has no beginning and no ending. A gold wedding band represents a precious soul commitment.
The wedding band is usually worn on the left ring finger which is the finger closest to the little finger. It started out this way because the Romans believed that the ring finger vein went directly to the heart. But this ring is worn on the index or pointer finger. Further, it is being worn on the right index finger before she is corrected.
The pointer finger points you in the right direction. The left tends to go with subconscious feelings. The right tends to go with conscious actions. Your finger swells when you been doing something too much.
I believe the dream is giving advice. The complicated part comes in when you realize that the woman in the dream represents the dreamer’s emotions.
I believe that what the dream may be saying is that the dreamer has been investing himself in conscious actions too much. The dream is screaming that he needs to take his direction from his subconscious feelings and emotions more, to go with what feels right at a soul level. Depending on your situation, it may be making recommendations about recent decisions, that it wants you to look at your inner feelings and motivations, more than what is expedient or convenient.
It is a big dream, talking about your soul commitments.

Dream 500: Interpreting Hieroglyphics
A woman sent me the above drawing of an image she had in a dream. She noted that there were also poisonous snakes and insects all over it. I attempted to interpret some of the possible meanings.
These were my remarks to her:
The triangle intersecting a square looks like pieces of a puzzle coming together. A circle usually represents the soul because it has no beginning and no end. The half circle looks like a half full cup to me which would mean that you’re optimistic. The two triangles meeting at a point look like an hourglass to me. Then there are triangles facing different directions which could symbolize a triangular relationship that is taking a different turn.
Taking a totally Wild perspective, I would guess that your omniscient Self is optimistic that it can figure out the puzzle of how a complicated relationship is changing, but time is limited.
I also like the ancient runes idea, that this is material coming from the collective unconscious. I wish I had an ancient rune translation.
Snakes usually represent change because they are one of the few animals that completely shed their skin. The type of snake usually tells you the type of change it is talking about. The poisonous snake would represent toxic change. Insects may be things that bug you.

Dreams were one of the many things I used to send multiple sclerosis into complete remission. The book that describes how I did this is at https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_21?k=multiple+sclerosis+mission+remission&sprefix=Multiple+Sclerosis+Mi&crid=30FSMZV7P0E8P
A young person with MS asked for advice about how to cope with having multiple sclerosis–this was my answer:
Let me say first that I appreciate and agree with much of what has already been answered; however, I am going to give you a more hopeful answer, based on 26 years of living with this disease. I was on all the ABC-R medications, but continued to get steadily worse. By the time I had it for 10 years, it was evident that it was primary progressive multiple sclerosis by the intensity of the symptoms.
I had a plastic brace the length of my right leg, numbness in arms and legs, used a four-point cane, and needed a wheelchair for anything like flying and going to the airport. If I ventured out to see sights like Las Vegas, I was able to see the sights only because kind relatives pushed me around in a wheelchair.
Then the beginning of what I now call my “functional healing” started when I found an experimental treatment my neurologist at Barrow Neurological Institute agreed to do with me involving steroids and cytoxan. The whole thing is too complex to describe here as it was concurrent with I say about twenty other alternative treatments. This whole mix of Western medicine, Eastern approaches and methods, and generally healthy things to do is described in a book I am writing which is called “Multiple Sclerosis Mission Remission: Healing MS Against All Odds.”
The critical thing to know is that I believe MS is probably due to a large number of converging factors. Make medicine your base and aid it with alternative methods that do no harm and can do a lot of good. I still have MS, but MS does not have me. At this time, I have no major symptoms after 26 years, but that does not mean you stop taking the medicine.
I continued to have Tysabri infusions every six weeks, am married, and have a full time private practice as a clinical psychologist. I started a new medication which is an infusion that you only have to take twice per year. The research on it is very promising and positive. It is called Ocrevus. I have a blog where I mostly interpret dreams, but now will also post sometimes about my book about my MS experience.
It is an overwhelming diagnosis. Give yourself time and develop whatever spirituality you have. Medicine + alternative approaches + good relationships + spirituality + meaningful work was my personal formula to functional healing. Some part of that might be part of your solution. My book is really about some ways of finding what is right for you which will be personally unique.
Dream 484: The power to stop yourself from doing something
A man told me he dreamed that a giant cut his right hand off and wondered what it might mean.
A giant is a person that is bigger than life. The right hand is mainly used by most people to do things. It sounds like your higher or larger self is keeping you from doing something.
At the second level of dream interpretation, which is more unreliable, it could mean someone powerful is keeping you from doing something in a way that deters you from doing it permanently.
The right is usually conscious action, while the left goes with subconscious emotion. The idea would be that your higher self and/or someone powerful is strongly and aggressively keeping or inhibiting you from doing something.

A woman had a dream that she was standing in a bucket and was being lowered into a water well. She wondered what the dream meant.
A famous Jungian dream analyst had a dream that she saw a flower grow out of a water well. The flower had to grow about 40 ft before it reached the surface and could then prosper. She wrote books for 20 years before getting one published. Her books then became best sellers and she had a whole slough of books to publish. Her name is Marion Woodman.
She always saw the dream as indicating that she had beautiful growth within her that would take a long time to emerge out into the world so it ended up being a predictive dream.
For some reason, you are being immersed in your emotions to get fully in touch with your subconscious and who you are at a root level would be part of my guess.
Another woman thought she should have as much fun as she can. She thought the dream was indicating or even recommending that the dreamer have a bucket list of things that she wanted to do. Movement downward usually represents movement towards the subconscious and the Soul, if you will.
It may well be her soul’s urging to do the things she wants before it’s too late, before she dies. Water is virtually always emotions in dream. She is being submerged into her emotions.
Dreams may suggest ways to improve your life at www.drstevenfox.com
Attending my wife’s funeral the other day, it struck me that death is the ultimate shadow following us through life. We are often motivated to accomplish things in a timely manner because of awareness that death is our ultimate fate. This is especially true as one ages.
The shadow is the part of our personality that everyone needs to protect us. It will do anything to protect the dreamer, which is why other parts of the dreamer’s personality need to moderate the Shadow’s response to threats.
One wants to remember that the shadow contains parts of us that we have not used, as well as aggressive parts. If I decided not to become a priest, there is a priest in my shadow that I may want to use at some point later in my life.
Dreams very much use stereotypes which is why Shadows are black in dreams. Plus the fact, shadows are indeed black. Plus the fact, the darkness indicates the subconscious. But one does not want to confuse the color of the Shadow as having any racial inferences.
In fact, when you have a black person in a dream, I believe that indicates that it is a very Soulful part of the person. That is because images from the collective subconscious come from any thought any man in history has ever had. Consciousness is connected in ways that we do not understand, but The older some day science will.
The deeper the thought, the more likely it is archetypal and ingrained in the collective unconscious to which every person is connected.
Black people in dreams are very Soulful parts of the subconscious because man began in Africa in tribes where the first archetypal images, where the deepest archetypal images, where the most soulful images, were created because they were the very first archetypal images. A black person in a dream is soulful because it harkens back to the day when our ancestors were gathered around camp fires in Africa. Common language recognizes this soul connection. For instance, we even call it “soul music,” do we not?
Black people in dreams indicate spirituality in dreams. A higher sense of soul is being summoned usually. The shadow is the part of the personality that protects us in life, and gives way in death to eternal life.

“I dreamt of painting a series of numbers on a canvas-like material.
The numbers filled the full space of the canvases. I remember painting the number 5. I believe the numbers were in sequential order. 1 through 8 and all of them were painted black and white. I can remember painting the number 5 with black paint. The number 8 however was painted white on a black background.
I can remember having my photo taken of myself, and asked the photographer if I could see his picture of me, since it was a digital photo. In the photo I looked smaller than normal. Also, I guess I was at a Renaissance fair, as I can remember that I was looking for a chainmail suit that knights wear. I was a knight from the Middle Ages. I was looking for a chainmail suit. I kept thinking of chainmail suit of armor before I awoke this morning.
In the photo, I looked smaller as I forgot to mention that I looked like a Fool or Jester from the Middle Ages. I am speaking of the Fool or Jester from the Middle Ages. The Fool’s look is of wearing striped stockings and what we today would consider flamboyant or feminine, for a guy to be wearing tights. Take a look at the original Tarot deck, and you will see the Jester or Fool I am speaking of.
I am not sure where 5 came from. I also don’t why I kept thinking of armor on my chest.
I have been told I lived during the Middle Ages. I had a past life reading when I was in high school. In one of my incarnations, I was a knight and was killed by my fellow men. They killed me for heresy because I told them about a Vision I saw in the early morning hours.
I will hit the parts of the dream that stand out for me. White on a black background sounds like the 8 ball on a pool table. What that connotes is that maybe you feel “behind the eight ball.” That the dream is expressly confusing black and white areas in different ways makes me wonder if it is a question of what’s right and what’s wrong.
In my world, four is the number of stability. Five in my world represents something being added it to your already stable situation. That you felt smaller and like a jester makes me wonder if you added something to your life recently that put you behind the eight ball, and you’re worried about how it will make you appear to others maybe.
In the Tarot deck, the Fool is a card of naivete and starting out on a journey that you don’t know what is going to happen. The question for me would be something like “have you started out doing something that is an addition to your life that is causing you stress and making you worried about how you will appear to others?”
Clothing is psychological defenses usually in dreams. And this clothing is very defensive. But it is a specific kind of defensiveness. To me, that you dreamt of armor on your chest was the dream’s way of emphasizing protecting your heart.
Specifically, chainmail is more flexible gear that allows you to be protected but still allows you to have movement. I think the dream is giving advice here probably.
Whatever situation you find stressful or being behind the eight ball, your subconscious wants you to defend yourself, but to lend yourself some flexibility to allow you to strike back at the competition. That you expressly look at a digital photo, which is bringing present-day into the Middle Ages, makes me wonder if the above things I’ve stated somehow involve the computer or the internet.
It may well be a past life. The question for me was why is your subconscious connecting your present life to a previous life as a knight in armor? What is there about your situation now where it would be valuable to remember what you learned as a defending Knight?
The thing about the flash of being attacked by other knights for having a vision, I think is your dream’s way of warning you to be careful of what you decide to tell and who you decide to tell close personal information to. You need to be flexibly defensive and not willing to sacrifice yourself because of others disbelief or stupidity.
It should be stated that dreams of knights and royalty in the Middle Ages is very archetypal which indicates this is a deep message. For me, this is probably an issue that you faced in previous lives and are facing once again in this life. The dream is trying to point to an archetypal pattern or a past life where you you dealt with it in a certain way, and the dream wants you to change that certain way.
I suspect you were too passive and maybe too honest to people who were not worthy of your trust. You were accused of heresy and executed in a previous life. You want to be careful about throwing pearls before swine, as Jesus said.

Dream 477: Your subconscious wants to take you higher
A woman was having nightmares about high school continuously. She wondered what this could mean.
I’ve noticed that people of all ages like to use high school in their dreams, or their dreams like to use the high school setting. I believe it is because it is a formative time of personality.
I also think the dream is making a play of words on it being a high school, a school for your higher self. If you are having constant nightmare scenes involving high school, without knowing further content, I would guess that there are some Shadow aspects to your personality that you have not integrated into your higher self.
I would guess that the nightmares represent a struggle to try to come to some terms as to how to integrate sexual and aggressive parts of your personality into your higher self. Dreams are often an extension of problems we try to consciously work on during the day.
Her nightmares probably mean that some basic aspects of her life are
akilter, but it is hard to know which areas of her life are involved without her describing more content.

Significant dream post 476: Feeling the flow of energy in life
The experiments in the following link involved “senders” transmitting an image while “receivers” reported what they saw in their dreams. The Department of Defense and Russia have shown interest in these phenomena.
These results suggest that what you think affects people and the world around you. After doing dream therapy for over twenty years, I am amazed at the insight dreams give about a dreamer’s life. I have had married couples in therapy who had remarkably similar dreams on the same night.
I regularly have a dreamer “incubate” a dream to answer a significant issue or situation in their life. My book, “Dreams: Guide to the Soul,” describes a dream incubation procedure that significantly raises the odds of having a dream that may help the dreamer with a problem situation. The book is available at http://www.drstevenfox.com
We disregard dreams at our own risk. I think dreams are often the result of thinking through problems in our life. Some think dreamers may enter another dimension where physical and emotional healing is more likely. I know they were important in my multiple sclerosis getting better. Here is the link showing some scientific evidence for telepathy:
I don’t remember much of this dream, but it was so unusual that I’ll post it:
It took place in a large building with a church, and people lived there. Sounds like a convent, but it was mixed sex. There was a giant that oppressed the people, a giant tyrant lol. Now it was my task to kill the giant!
It was one of those dreams in which I can fly and go through walls and ceilings etc. I went through the whole building, from the bottom (crypt) to the top. Eventually there was the confrontation with the giant, in the church part. I flew up to his head, and rammed a big sword in his eye. The giant fell down, I had done my job.
The giant probably represents the savage masculine archetype. This dream may be about using aggression for good purposes. Flying in the dream means that you are feeling personal power. A convent or church connotes sacred commitment.
The church indicates that it may be your own sacred duty to subdue excessive aggression within yourself; however, the dream I think gives you high marks for using aggression to eliminate savagery.
Dreams can help change negative parts of yourself at http://www.drstevenfox.com
People in my practice frequently describe a young girl, from ages say five to ten years old, who keeps appearing in their dreams. They are typically mystified by this. It is especially disturbing to fully heterosexual men when they dream of kissing them or having even closer intimacy.
Welcome to the Divine Child archetype. It is usually a girl because women tend to go more with emotional parts of your mind. (At the first level, each character represents a part of your psyche.) The Divine Child is usually a young girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. The reason for this is that those physical features are the stereotypical ideal feminine features in Western culture.
Other cultures may have different idealized features. For example, Hispanic cultures tend to idealize dark hair with brown eyes.
Sex in dreams at the first level represents different parts of your mind integrating. Kissing or being intimate with the Divine Child, in this case, represents integrating your hopes/dreams into your life with your behavior, actions and emotions. The younger the Divine Child in the dream, the less developed is a particular hope or dream that you have.

I have completed my first draft of “MS Mission Remission: Healing Multiple Sclerosis Against All Odds” and received the following review of the first draft:
“MS MISSION REMISSION” by Dr. Fox was both a pleasure and an eye opener to the many aspects of how MS develops and can be managed. The deep insights he provides into his personal and family dynamics are powerful indicators of how dis-ease can be instilled and manifest later in various ways, from psychological to physical trauma. His ingenuity, spiritual insights and dogged determination to regain his life from the debilitating toll of MS is both inspirational and instructive. My blog at http://www.drfoxblog.com focuses on dreams and MS
“I’m standing on a high bridge whose poles are made of small pieces of clouds. I don’t know how they can keep this whole weight. I don’t see that its something real.I can see on the bridge, now it s forming a kind of egg-shaped plate, greenish color as it has a mild vibration. Beside me it opens a small hole through which it is possible to see a lot of green trees and vegetation which is so thick that i can t see the ground .
This bridge connects two big trees through which flows some kind of electricity, or something like that, and the bridge is feeding them. The trees bend their branches as if they have conscience. Then one of the branches wants me to sit on it.
I’m climbing and at the moment I feel, I rise very quickly in the air. It discharges me from itself, so high above. I’m falling through the hole on the bridge. I’m wearing on my back a bright green disk color that is slowing me downhill between trees. It’s like I’m not from matter anymore. I’m completely empty, and I now know that I’m made of air and light.”
A disk or circle in my world usually symbolizes the Soul because it has no beginning and no end. Green is growth because it is the color of plants. Trees are major symbols of integration in my world. Bridges are passages in life, going from one stage or area of life to another.
Holy naturalness! Everything in this dream is natural. It sounds like you are probably a very integrated and natural person who might be in the process of bridging two major areas, practices or teachings, or people in your life.
There are two concerns I might consider about this dream. One is the clouds that seemingly cannot support the bridge. The other is the tree ejecting you on high.
When I try to make sense of this dream, I think that it is indicating that the two areas of your life are already naturally bridged. I see it as less concerned about bridging those areas, beliefs or practices in your life because they have already been bridged.
The dream might see you as having very noble goals, but may want you to come down from the clouds and ground your goals in reality. The green disk assures us that you have the Soul and growth to bring these two major areas of integration to earth, to “ground” them, and bring your knowledge to others.
Dreams can help you to integrate at http:// www.drstevenfox.com
I was having trouble with my eyesight. Double vision was new for me. I was dropping things I held for no reason. My balance was unsteady and I would sometimes fall down seemingly for no reason. My wife, being the board certified psychiatrist that she is, insisted that I consult with a neurologist. Numerous tests and procedures were performed (to be described later). It was time for us to meet with the good doctor and hear the results.
When we went to obtain the results, the neurologist mumbled a few words at me and looked down at the floor while he spoke. I processed nothing of what he was saying to me. Repression is a remarkable phenomenon. He met with my wife for what seemed like a long time. Driving back from the doctor’s office to Arizona State University Student Health where my wife was the psychiatrist on the eating disorders team, Debby was uncharacteristically quiet.
When we drove into Student Heath and I stopped the car to let her out, I found out why.
“Well, I guess we will keep trying to figure out what is going on with me,” I said with resignation. “What are you talking about? The MS looks severe,” she said. Deborah never suffered a fool well.
“MS?” I innocently queried.
With disbelief Dr. Deborah Brogan said, “Didn’t he tell you that you have MS, multiple sclerosis?”
“What?” I asked.
Debby, answered, “You heard me. The doctor said you have multiple sclerosis.”
So it began, my fifteen-year journey through purgatory. I thought I must have made serious mistakes in a previous life. At the time it seemed as good an explanation as any for why I contracted multiple sclerosis, MS.
It turns out that I probably contracted multiple sclerosis because of conditions I endured in this lifetime which would include the cold climate I was born into in the Midwest, abuse as a child, drinking too much diet coke with aspartame, frequently having bronchitis, genetics, getting into a car accident when I was a 31-year-old, working out in a hot karate studio, etc. MS is a syndrome which I believe is ignited by a host of various factors coming together. I believe it to be the exception, rather than the rule, for multiple sclerosis in a particular person to be due mainly to only one causative factor. I think that is why MS must be fought on numerous fronts—it probably was caused by the totality of your life and now is affecting every aspect of your life.
At the time, I thought that I just wanted to return to my old self, the “I” your ego thinks of you as being. I never accepted the MS as being the real me. It was an adversary sent to test the real me. Little did I know how much my real self was going to change because of the battle, no the war, with multiple sclerosis.

Dream 451: I need to cool my emotions to do what I need to do
A woman who is an expert in astral projection had the following dream:
“I found myself flying in the air with a red balloon attached to my waist. I was flying over a busy city street wondering why I had the balloon attached since I had always flown in my dreams without it. I sat on top of a very high building for awhile watching below. Later the balloon got caught in a tree and it seemed a hindrance although I was able to break free easily. Three men convinced me to come down (I didn’t want to) and they took me to a large blue pool of water. They placed me in the pool and said I had some emotions to deal with. There were many people in the pool. I was reluctant to speak with them as well as be with people on the earth but after a day they made me feel comfy even hugging me and almost protective like. After about 3 days I knew I did not belong on the ground any longer yet my balloon was no longer with me. I did not know if I could fly without it but I knew the sky was where I belonged. Their vibrations were too low and I had to get away from the overwhelming negative emotional energies coming off them. I lifted off without it and knew I was free without the balloon which I had seen as a handicap. My journey had begun again as I thought of which direction to head, then I woke.”
Red usually represents strong emotions (love, hatred, anger, etc.). The pool of water (water is virtually always emotions in dreams) sounded like a place to cool your emotions down. Blue might mean she was feeling blue. Then she was free to fly without emotions that may have been interfering with her integration (since there were trees in the dream–trees usually represent integration because its roots reach down into the Earth, it opens up to the sky and it is here on the level).
The balloon, in this case, was a hindrance which I think was the dream’s way of assuring her that she can rely on her own internal guidance and did not need an exterior force to rise above the chaos below.
There were three (the number of change) men (who are associated with action parts of herself) because the dream specifically wanted her to change some part of the way she did things. She needed to return to Earth to get “grounded” in mundane reality, but there was no keeping her from astral projecting for long. This transformative dream was probably about working through an emotional block.

There are many examples of dreams having major importance in the Bible including Mary being told about the coming birth. Many of the dreams, like Joseph’s warning to the Pharaoh of Egypt that there would be seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine, were predictive. “I had a dream that I was in a spaceship and everything was in bright colorful colors. I remember feeling safe, then all the sudden it drops me on a railroad bridge, above a river. I had to shimmy across that whole bridge to solid ground. I had this dream maybe 20 years ago,but I still think about it sometimes. I was never afraid. ?”
The dream seems reassuring and predictive to me. The spaceship with bright colors to me is a higher world or even spiritual perspective filled with positive emotion. Colors are different kinds of emotions. When colors are vivid in dreams, that indicates that they are strong feelings.
Water is emotion and rivers usually represent the River of Life. Bridges most often represent making the transitions in life emotionally necessary to make progress consciously. A bridge and particularly a railroad bridge represents a life Passage. Dreams love to use trains because of the many metaphors to life such as being on the right track and leaving the station on time.
I believe the dream is reassuring in that it says that you will have challenging passages in life, but by remaining calm and making steady progress, will get to where you need to go. I feel this dream predictive and reassuring. Any dream that you have repetitively over a course of years is a “big dream” that has significance about the course of your life. Congratulations!

Dream Image 416: Ideas in my new book will resonate with the above image.
I am currently writing a book on how I recovered from MS, multiple sclerosis, after 15 years. I used an integrated approach which used dreams as one of about 20 different treatment aspects.
I’m looking for a good name for this book. If you submit the name that I pick, I will gift you an ebook copy of my current book, “Dreams: Guide to the Soul.” Please submit all your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org
A dreamer reported an ex girlfriend had a couples dreams of him one night. He wondered about the significance of the sea shell. The former girlfriend’s dream was as follows:
“I kept singing prayers into your ear and kissing your forehead after every one. Every time I did a new orb would appear and I’d have a vision of some place. You were holding sea shells”
” I was little and someone was reading a bedtime story while I gazed out the window into the dark woods when all of a sudden this freaky alien ripped me out of the house and into the woods.”nbsp;
Her singing to you and kissing dreamer’s forehead in the dream would mean that at the first level she’s praying to the action part of herself that loved him which is expressed by her kissing his forehead.
If it were my dream, the orbs would probably represent hopes regarding relationships. Orbs are round and are light and rocks are circular mostly. Circular objects, especially circular objects that are lighted usually represent the soul since the circle has no beginning and it has no end. The dream is suggesting that she’s dealing with soul issues.
If these dreams were together relatively, it seems to be about listening. The dream seems to be saying she has emotional wishes that she prays would come true, but probably really doesn’t listen to them very closely.
I think the above for two reasons, the first one being the seashells. When I was young it was always said that if you held a seashell to your ear you could hear the ocean. The ocean is the biggest symbol of the subconscious that we have. Symbolically, these seashells would represent listening to her subconscious, specifically, the part of her subconscious that dealt with dreamer.
The second reason to suspect it has to do with listening is that when she is read a bedtime story, she is not paying attention and is staring out into the dark woods.
The dream gets savage in emphasizing that she needs to listen and pay attention to her subconscious emotions by having an alien jerk her out of her world.

A woman reported that her nine-year-old daughter dreamed she had twins that were dark blue / purple in color and wondered what it could mean.
The color blue goes with the throat chakra which is usually how you communicate. The color purple goes with the highest chakra which is above your head. She is probably giving birth to new parts of herself that are related in that she is learning to communicate better and is developing spiritually.
The dreamer later realized with help from others that the babies were indigo in color. Indigo goes with the chakra that is the third eye of intuition.
The woman revealed after hearing the interpretations that her daughter revealed that she was being abused. That she was able to tell her mother this was major growth on her part in showing that she needed to communicate to protect herself.
The fact that her daughter dreamed of twins doubles the importance of this dream that indicated that she was developing the twin functions of communication and intuition.

“So I had a dream that I was the mother of Jesus, I looked like me but I didn’t at
the same time. My hair was longer and darker, my skin was darker, etc ..yet the
same exact eyes, lips, height, and curls. I was standing in a door way & I can feel
the Sun on my back as I look into the shaded small building. It looked like a very
small home (far from modern).
I can’t recall what was said.
The twist is I believe in God but I haven’t accepted Jesus as God. Im not saying
its impossible, because nothing is. I look into all religions & “mythologies”. When I
woke up I felt like I literally just slammed into my body,I had tears in my eyes and
this tingling in my heart.”
At the first and symbolic level of dream interpretation, an important spiritual and emotional part of you is standing at the doorway to a new life (a new house). You are literally being reborn
in the sense of giving birth to a new part of your spirituality. Your
emotions are getting ready to deliver a new spiritually active and central
part of yourself. This part is small now but important. One wants to
remember that Jesus was born in a manger.

I dreamed hat my deceased brother-in-law hugged me as i was leaving the hospital after visiting my wife who was a patient there.
My wife was having a number of medical difficulties. She was hospitalized right before I had this dream. What was different about this dream was the feeling of touch. I had the feeling that I actually was physically hugged by him.
The deceased brother-in-law in the dream was a doctor in real life who was totally loved by his wife, family of eight children, and the world. He was a strong and empathetic healer. He gave encouragement and clear direction to all that knew him.
One major type of dream is what I call a vision dream. People typically report that they feel is more of a vision than a dream. I could vividly see him and had the sensation of being physically hugged.
What sets these dreams apart is the sensation part of it. The vision or seeing of the person seems more vivid. The sense of touch is usually filled which does not occur in many dreams actually.
Sometimes people indicate they can even smell the familiar person. The vivid image of him in extraordinary detail and the physical feeling of touch were in this dream. I usually do not have dreams like this.
It is memorable the few times they do happen. It always seems to be significant to what is happening in the outside world or in reality. On the other hand, what is the ultimate reality?
Theoretical physicists tell me that there are at least 10 dimensions plus time. We see only three of them. They say that it is all happening here right now . I believe that leaves a lot of room for spiritual interpretation of visions like this one.

The following was written by Father Augustine and may represent the Catholic Church’s stance on dreams:
“The Nature of Dreams A dream is an illusory psychic activity, particularly of a visual nature that occurs during sleep. It is essentially a psychological phenomenon with many philosophical, religious and moral implications.
Scientific findings on dreams have shown them to involve perception, creative and reproductive imagination, association of ideas and images, memory and emotion. Thinking and reasoning may also occur in dreams but on a superficial and uncritical level (this is important in relation to the moral relevance of what one does in the midst of a dream). At times one is aware of a type of “choosing” within dreams — such as resistance to temptation; however, such “willed acts” do not stem from a free decision-making ability but rather from behavioral habits and automatic responses.
The critical powers of the mind such as reality testing and decision making are greatly impaired in dreaming, which accounts for the incoherent and chaotic nature of many dreams. In a dream the distinction between reality and imagination is totally lost or at least impaired. Dreams can be natural or supernatural.
If they are supernatural then their origin lies in God, angels or demons. Dreams can also be induced by hypnosis. What causes dreams can seldom be traced to one well defined external or internal stimulus. Rather, they are brought about my many interacting factors of a perceptual, emotional, motivational and physiological nature.
Dreaming occurs in cycles following the fluctuation of sleep stages. It appears when the dreamer emerges from the stage of deep sleep. In an average night’s sleep a person dreams from 1 to 2 hours with dreams distributed in three to five periods, lasting from 20 to 30 minutes, and each sleep period followed at intervals of about 90 minutes.
Dreams are primarily made up of visual imagery. Most of the images are black and white. The content of dreams is usually very personal and intimate, and has to do with one’s attitudes toward oneself and toward important people in one’s environment.
In terms of emotional content, dreams range from ecstatic fantasies to nightmares. There is a preponderance of unpleasant dreams caused by fear, anger or sadness. Dreams of sex and aggression are quite frequent.”
My views do not conflict with the Catholic Church; however, I do take a more expanded view of dreams which I think is acceptable to nearly every religion. I also like Buddhists’ view of reality and dreams.

The great Rumi shows his profound understanding of life:
“THE DREAM THAT MUST BE INTERPRETED
This place is a dream.
Only a sleeper considers it real.
Then death comes like dawn,
and you wake up laughing
at what you thought was your grief.
But there’s a difference with this dream.
Everything cruel and unconscious
done in the illusion of the present world,
all that does not fade away at the death-waking.
and it must be interpreted.
All the mean laughing,
all the quick, sexual wanting,
those torn coats of Joseph,
they change into powerful wolves
that you must face.
The retaliation that sometimes comes now,
the swift, payback hit,
is just a boy’s game
to what the other will be.
You know about circumcision here.
It’s full castration there!
And this groggy time we live,
this is what it’s like:
A man goes to sleep in the town where he has always lived
and he dreams he’s living in another town.
In the dream, he doesn’t remember
the town he’s sleeping in his bed in. He believes
the reality of the dream town.
The world is that kind of sleep.
The dust of many crumbled cities
settles over us like a forgetful doze,
but we are older than those cities.
We began as a mineral.
We emerged into plant life
and into the animal state, and then into being human,
and always we have forgotten our former states,
except in early spring when we slightly recall
being green again.
That’s how a young person turns
toward a teacher. That’s how a baby leans
toward the breast, without knowing the secret
of its desire, yet turning instinctively.
Humankind is being led along an evolving course,
through this migration of intelligences,
and though we seem to be sleeping,
there is an inner wakefulness
that directs the dream,
and that will eventually startle us back
to the truth of who we are.”
Interpreting your life as a dream often gives you deep insight at http://www.drstevenfox.com
There are certain types of dreams that fill the dreamer with a sense of sacred fear and wonder. These transcendental dreams were called “numinous dreams” by psychoanalyst Otto. They are closely related to vision dreams in which the person feels like it is closer to being an experience than a dream.
These vision dreams often occur after the death of a loved one. The person feels that the deceased communicates, often telepathically, a message that is meant to reassure the dreamer. Often in these vision dreams, the dreamer feels they can see, hear, smell and feel the deceased. This often takes place in the context of the dreamer feeling like they actually physically hugged the loved one who has passed.
Some of these numinous dreams involve angels and images of Jesus. I know a dreamer who regularly feels she visited heaven. Communication with spirits and guides who transmit messages about the dreamer’s life destiny is not uncommon.
The memorable thing about these dreams is the striking iconic imagery which can involve symbols which the dreamer can not dismiss. For instance, one such dream could involve the dreamer being shown his tombstone by a glorious angel. On his tombstone might be the moving image of the dreamer defeating Satan in battle by helping the poor and downtrodden.
The lighting and tone of these dreams often convey a spiritual white light that defines the sacredness of the moment. The dream memory becomes emblazoned in the dreamer’s mind as setting the destiny of what she is meant to accomplish in life.
You will hear persons talk about doing “spiritual warfare” in their dreams in which they respond to demons with the Word of God. These dreams often strike deep fear into the dreamer. They frequently view their lives as a spiritual struggle they are fated to endure.
It is often a realization of the will of God which can be sacred fear. It is a destiny from which they feel there is no escape. Wherever you go, there you are.

“I was in a library and the feeling of awe because of all the books and knowledge that are in them. I wanted to get a new book for new knowledge and couldn’t wait but then I spotted this gorgeous man. He was alluring. He had tan skin and long dark hair. He reminded me of my boyfriend from age 19 who was a Victorias Secret model. He was younger as well. The man looks back and our eyes connect and he notices me too.
I see he is talking to a woman. He’s smiling and quite friendly with her. We end up talking a bit with tons of flirting. He tells me to meet him upstairs where we can be alone for sex. While slipping out of the library I see him flirt with other women and they want him. I did not like the way he was so flirtatious to the other women but said to myself he still chose me.
I walk out of the library and to my surprise I am in a huge building. The walls are shiny gold. The ceilings are high. There is a stairwell that has marble stairs and shiny gold guardrails going up. I go up the stairs and find its an attic. When I walk in its nothing like where I came from. It’s dark, only one window and a humongous blow up matress. Dark wooden beams were on the ceiling for support in an angle. There on the mattress was the man completely naked and ready. I was very upset. I thought I was worth at least some sweet talk and romance.
He convinced me to sit by him but tried to just go for it. I kissed him but was hesitant. Then one of the workers came in and said we couldn’t be there so we had to leave aa if we were caught. He said to meet him later somewhere else. I said ok.
I went down and had to find the way out. I walked through this huge building and ran into what was a casino I believe. It had the machines with gold knobs on them. I thought how odd a casino was in there. I walked in for a minute but couldn’t walk through because I can’t stand the energy of casinos and people gambling.
I searched for another way out but couldn’t find one. I ended up walking through the casino and finally getting out. Exhausting.
Some friends pick me up and we drive around town for a bit. I keep thinking I told this man I’d meet him and didn’t think I wanted to. Hours later we ended up at some storage units where I was suppose to meet him.
I had given him my word so I was thinking I’d tell him I changed my mind but really I didn’t want to deal with it at all. But I kept going back and forth because he was so good looking, lol. I finally thought to myself that I was worth more than sex at a storage unit, how he had flirted with other women and it didn’t make me special that he chose me but probably gullible instead. Also that I wasn’t even worth some romance with the two places he had picked. I told myself no way, I didnt care how good looking he was bc this now made him ugly. I left knowing he’d be stood up. I woke.
I want to approach this dream from the point of view of each character in the dream being part of your mind.Men usually go more with actions and women going more with emotions usually.
The dream starts out in the library. Usually the way a dream starts out usually tells us what it’s going to be about. Right off the bat the dream is emphasizing learning and knowledge and you were flirting with the idea of gaining more knowledge. Having sex in a dream is a sign of integration. But this integration never really happens in this dream. The problem is that the man isn’t worth integrating with. He is a trickster, manipulator who does not have your best interest at heart.
This dream is a major caution against going after what looks good. The first place he wants to have sex with you is in a high place in an attic. A building frequently can correspond with the dreamer to some extent in which case this is talking about your mind and your higher ideals probably.
You are caught in the attic and asked to leave because there are other parts of yourself that do not want you to lower your standards.
Going to the casino is interesting. I think the dream is screaming that you don’t want to gamble yourself on shallow circumstances.
Being asked to have sex in storage units is not only doubling down on it being dingy and the lowering of your self esteem, but I think the dream is expressly saying it wants you to put this memory in storage, they want you to remember this lesson and not compromising yourself excessively.
All in all, the dream is emphasizing deepening yourself through learning and knowledge and warning you about rationalizing yourself into compromising situations. It is explicitly warning you about being lured by what looks good rather than gaining knowledge (the library).

Dream 375: Permission to Master and Guide My Emotions and Creativity
A woman had the following dream:
“I was talking to my dad asking his permission to bring home a grand piano. He said we have to ask your mom. So,anyway I brought the grand piano in a den that I’ve never seen before nor have I been there. My mom and dad were there and I said to my mom “Can we keep it? The piano matches the mantel, mom, please.” She said, “Okay.” The dream ended there.”
At the first level in a dream, your father represents your father introject which is often the basis of your actions. Your mother introject is usually the foundation of your emotions. So this is a big dream.
A piano, and particularly a grand piano, usually represents creativity and mastery. Music puts us in a certain mood that we control by our selection of music we play so that it can be emotionally related. It may be related to deciding to control your emotions.
In thought emotionally, and in action, you decided on some level to give yourself the means to make beautiful music emotionally or something on that order would be my first idea. And giving yourself permission to do this creative or emotional thing is something that you have decided upon to let yourself do.

Dream 374: The Law of Attraction and the Collective Unconscious Refer to the Same Thing
The collective unconscious according to Dr. Carl Jung was a sort of a master subconscious. The idea was that we each have our own individual subconscious which feeds into an overriding mass master subconscious composed of all human consciousness. That is, the collective unconscious is composed of every thought ever thought by any human in all of time.
When you put out a thought or idea into the universe, similar thoughts or energies will gravitate towards it. We do not know by what mechanism or dimension this occurs, but I believe one day the science will find out how this is happening . Just because we can not explain it now does not mean that it does not exist.
I believe once the ideas gather sufficient weight in numbers of human consciousness, they are then manifested in reality. This explains why the Law of Attraction works. This puts a great deal of responsibility on all of us in the sense that every thought that any person ever had entered the collective unconscious.
Meditating is not strictly a passive activity because the thoughts generated could affect the collective subconscious. Buddhists have known for millennia that meditation can change the world.
Any thought can potentially affect the world. When you meditate, it is not just a passive activity, you are actively influencing the collective subconscious of people everywhere. Using this frame of reference, dreams, dream images, and dream ideas may sometimes be the collective unconscious communicating with you through dreams.

A woman dreamed that she cut her hair in a dream. When she woke in the morning, her hair was arranged somewhat like it was in the dream. She wondered what it meant if you give yourself a haircut in a dream.
Dreams are usually about problems you’re having. A haircut usually means a demotion or diminution of power. We talk about getting a haircut at work which usually means that you were put in your place.
It also could be a new start or a new beginning, and it probably is the new start or new beginning because you decided to change something about yourself you did not like. This particularly would be the case if you gave yourself a haircut. You looked at yourself and started to change something to give yourself a new look in life would be my take on it.
The meaning I am taking from the dream is positive in the sense that you are getting a new look because you want to correct the problems from the past. Dreams are almost always about solving problems. This has adaptive value which is why dreams have stayed with people through the millenniums.

Dream 367: Giving the Divine Child archetype some spiritual courage
A young man had the following dream in his own words:
“I was walking beside a girl in a part of my dream last night. She was very sweet. As we were walking into a building I felt a presence behind her.
I looked back and there was a woman dressed in dark holding a gun to her.
I put my hand on the spine of the girl I was beside and humbly whispered ‘in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.’
And in that moment a light flashed over the girl with the gun and she put it down and said in a similar tone as mine when I spoke. She said ‘thank you.’
I smirked at her in a loving but strong way and walked the girl into the building she was going into.”
Assuming that the girl was a child, it was probably the Divine Child archetype. The Divine Child carries all our hopes, dreams and wishes for the future, like Jesus Christ did. It often is a blue-eyed blonde-haired little girl between the ages of 3 and 11. It can be other physical features, but these are the most frequent in our culture.
The girl as a Divine Child archetype would represent positive emotions and hoped for plans for the future. Women usually represent an emotional part of the dreamer. A woman with a gun is shadow aggressive/negative emotions.
The dreamer put his hand on her spine and say something very spiritual. The dream is saying that strong spirituality helps him stand up to negative emotions, it helps him have more spine.
The dreamer in the dream is acting as the heroic masculine which is usually the part of the personality that is involved in healing. It takes the action necessary to heal the person or make them better. In this case, the heroic masculine is lending his strength to Divine Child emotionality so that his plans can be actualized and come into reality.
When the Heroic Masculine lends it’s strength in performing healing action to the Divine Child, the Self can only say “thank you” that Shadow emotions were overcome and vanquished.

At the first level of dream interpretation, each ghost could be parts of our mind/psyche/personality. Ghosts are dead people. They are an unseen presence or influence.
It could be a part that is not the same that it once was, i.e., that part of the person is now a “ghost of its (former) Self.” It’s just not the way it used to be. It is not the same as it once was.
That part of the person just is not happening anymore–the spirit may be strong but the necessities to pull it off, the real flesh, are no longer there.
It could represent the person being too ethereal and high spirited focusing on the higher Self. They may not be paying enough attention to day-to-day grounded concerns.
With gifted psychic people it may sometimes represent an eerie spiritual feeling you have inside about another person. In a dream, the question would be why was that certain person picked.
It could involve feeling ignored, that people do not see the real you and act as if you are not there.
It could represent feeling ineffective related to being a ghost of your former self.
It could relate to how a part of you has been influenced by the Spirit of another.
These all have the motif of being historical or past parts of yourself whose spirit lives on. In this sense, it would represent an elemental essence of yourself or another person.
All this is not to say that they do not exist. I believe we are affected by spirits according to what the vibration of our inner selves brings into our agenda.
So I do not see them so much as shadow parts of the self as much as I see them as strong historical parts of the self that endure and continue to influence our lives. They are changed, but the spirit is still powerful.
With intuitive persons, it may represent a secret intuitive self that quickly gathers the spirit of a person or situation.
It sometimes indicates a legend. For example, during the Civil War one of the great marauders of the south who captured Union generals behind the enemy lines, was known as the Gray Ghost. He could come out of thin air, anytime, anywhere.
Or it could mean someone is lost in the sense of ghosts being lost and unable to find their way. They end up roaming aimlessly on earth. At the first level, it could represent the journey of the Lost Soul trying to find the light.
It can also convey the spirit of an epoch such as the “Ghost of Christmas Past.” Or it could show a stain that a person had to live with such as, “he had to live with the ghost of his father’s failure.”
Another possibility might be that a person could imagine themselves doing something as a ghost if they thought something had a low probability of happening in the sense of “he doesn’t have a ghost of a chance of winning.”
There are more meanings of ghosts than with most symbols in dreams I think because it implies spirituality.
Knowledge of your dreams can be useful at http://www.drstevenfox.com
“I dreamed I was in robes in a desert town in front of a very old brick building. I was pleading with those passing by to believe in what Jesus was trying to teach them. From the crowd someone yelled Mary you don’t know what you’re talking about. My dream then transported me to a more modern home I was in a large desert field with my husband and we were looking at the only thing growing in it which was a Walnut tree. My husband said he wanted to chop it down. He did not want to clean up walnuts every year. (not like him at all by the way) I protested and I got my way.”
It is a very archetypal dream as it invokes Jesus. The dreamer was called Mary who was the mother of Jesus. She was trying to proselytize and spread the Faith. She was not being listened to enough and being heckled by some.
Then the dream moved to the walnut tree. Each person and each living thing in a dream is a part of your mind at the first level of dream interpretation. Her husband would represent an action part of her mind. Males typically go with an action part of the mind while women tend to go more with emotional parts.
Her husband probably represented the part of her that carried out her ideas, the part of her that put her ideas in motion. A tree is a symbol of integration as it opens to the sky, sends roots deep into the earth, and is with you on the surface. It gives off a nutrient which is a walnut which symbolically is the fruit of her integration and higher thoughts.
The dream is drawing a similarity between Mary not being listened to and so many walnuts being wasted each year. It may be that it felt like not enough people were absorbing her message. She could be feeling subconsciously that the valuable life-giving message she had to give that would nurture people (the walnut) was being wasted or ignored too much, that she even may have felt heckled sometimes.
The action part of her that spread these valuable messages, represented by her husband in the dream, gets tired and frustrated with her efforts not being appreciated enough. The dream ends on a positive note as she convinced that action part of herself to carry on in spreading the fruit of her labors.

“Twice within a month I have dreamed of large tomatoes… (I’m saying bigger than your head large).
Also last night I dreamed of a black horse that was bleeding,I tried tending to the wounds. It was dark and I was in the woods.”
She later indicated that the horse ran away in the dream.
Food represents support, psychological support or emotional support in a dream.
The tomatoes are large maybe because the dreamer wanted some juicy and nurturing psychological support for which she probably was longing.
At the first level of dream interpretation, a person or animal or spirits usually represents different parts of your mind . Horses often represent female sexual power or energy, literally they are “horsepower.”
The horse being black indicates that this horse may represent the shadow side of sexuality. That part of the dreamer’s world has been hurt deeply and she was trying to repair it and get her instincts back in line. She probably wants to run away from the deep issues of shadow sexuality that this dream may represent.
Like the horse in the dream, she was probably hurt, restless, and running around trying to find her way. Her trying to help the horse in the dream indicates that she probably needed emotional healing.

“I just woke up from a dream at 3:06 when I looked at the time. I dreamt I was in a room so familiar with a door open, with a furnace, a lot of boxes, and tossed aside stuff. I had a friend over and a kitten, but that’s not what spoke to me in my dream.
It is when I walked into the room of boxes and next to the cold furnace…my roommate’s dead dog Lily. My buddy! I told my whoever was in the room to come to me, its my dog. I wanted to see if she could see her to.
I heard a meow. I looked to my left. My poor cold underground cat, my baby boy Kidd. I cried in grief but yet happy to see him.
My full attention was on him. He felt cold and a bit damp. Not what I wanted him to be since I found him barely alive in the rain one night. I cried loving him just giving him attention.
I said, “I got my wish. I got to see you again. Just wish you guys were back with me.” Then (Here’s the weird part) a voice came from inside him.
A male voice. Calming, gentle and yet again familiar. He said, “Its time for Kidd Lily and Jack (or scrap) to return now. But remember you’re still with us.” I asked him “do I know you?” He laughed a bit deeply and it worried me.
I hugged my dear cat again wishing he’ll be fine. It hurt to say goodbye again. He continued to laugh then “POOF.” I woke up as they vanished.
I’m curious. Who could that voice be? For months I had wished to have Kidd back. That voice gave him back for a few minutes…You can’t bring back the dead but you can still see them in dreams.
Thank you voice. My wish still came true cause of you. I just hope you’re not evil. My best friends deserve the best.”
I believe that the voice was probably his Shadow. We usually think of the shadow as being negative and aggressive and want nothing to do with it. That is why the shadow talks to him through his beloved cat, so that he might accept what it says.
It asked him to do something he did not want to do, to let go of his pets and decrease actively mourning for them. Owners are usually emotionally close to their pets. That is why parents usually represent our affections.
He tries to reassure the dreamer that he could let go of them because they will always be with him in his subconscious. When we make major changes in life, it is usually due at least partly to the shadow.
Males usually go more with action parts of your mind and that is why it is a male voice that comes out of the shadow, because it wanted him to take the action of letting go. The voice becomes somewhat mischievous and almost evil. That is because we almost always wonder if the shadow is evil incarnate.
Lack of acceptance of the shadow is a danger. The danger is that it has no contact with other parts of the personality that would keep it in line. The shadow is usually only dangerous when it does not have other parts of your mind to limit it. If other parts of the personality are not there, it becomes excessive and monstrous.
My dream interpretation method is described in my book at http://www.drstevenfox.com
“Just had a dream that I was in a parking lot. I started my car, and when I was away from it started to rev up by its self more and more and more. I started running towards it when this happened, and a huge gust of wind hit me and launched me into the sky. When I hit the ground I woke up. What do you think this means?”
A car may symbolize how you get somewhere in life. The implication of a car revving up is probably that the dreamer’s subconscious was getting impatient with the dreamer waiting on something. Being lifted up into the sky has almost spiritual significance and points to a higher level.
The fact that the car was revving up and that he was taken up into the sky by the wind which is a natural force of nature implied that his subconscious on both a practical and spiritual basis wants him to “take off.” The dream is not saying in particular what it wants him to do and that is for the dreamer to figure out.
My dream interpretation manual is at http://www.drstevenfox.com
The following is a dream I interpreted as a moderator on Dale Miesen’s Facebook Power of Dreams page. The dreamer is an adult woman in the post is presented in the form it was posted to the Power of Dreams.
“I am in China somewhere in a city, with some man I know, possibly a friend, he tells me to wait while he has to go into a Museum to get something, I ask to go with him because I Love Museums, yet he tells me to wait at the bus stop nearby, so I wait, and wait, then a small chinese girl butts into this dream and tells me the most awesome story of how the stars or rain comes down to earth and turns into the salmon then into bubbles that protect the water? something like the circle of life story really beautiful, then I am at the bus stop again, yet get the inkling to climb the Museum walls to get a view of the city? and while looking around, this bubble centipede is coming up the wall past me as I look down and there’s this little girl playing on a sort of huge construction ladder that she shouldn’t be on, and the centipede is attempting to rescue her.”
The museum implies aesthetic interests. You are “climbing the walls” looking for something interesting. The Chinese girl usually represents emotions the dreamer is trying to figure out as women most often go with emotions, and some say the Chinese are inscrutable. The moral of the Pocahontas-like story is that natural things, living things, and little things are very important in the circle of life. The implication is that these are the things that the dream wanted her to pay attention to.
It wanted her to focus on living things like the little centipede which may seem unimportant at times but which are actually very important for life. Her subconscious did not want her to get distracted thinking about trying to climb to the top in her work life. The ladder implies climbing to the top and the fact that it is a construction ladder emphasizes that the danger is in going back to heavy work.
The worries she had about the girl in the dream is the worry she has about herself doing work that may not be right. The dream would rather that she focus on living aesthetic seemingly little things rather than taking too many risks thinking of doing heavy work. The circle of life was very important in her life now.

A man dreamed he was looking at a gigantic silver horse in the sky with a gigantic silver figured man riding it. They were about three stories high. Large white fluffy clouds covered their lower half.
There are several remarkable things about this dream. First, the figures appear in the sky. Things appearing in the sky probably are related to the dreamer’s higher aspirations.
Silver is a precious metal. Some say it could represent wealth. Each character in the dream is considered to be a different part of the dreamer’s mind at the first level of dream interpretation.
A horse is an animal and represents your instincts. Specifically, a horse in particular represents your energy or ability to accomplish what you want to accomplish in life, your horsepower. If this is a predictive dream, it was predicting that the dreamer would do well financially and otherwise.
If it is a dream of desire, and I suspect it is a dream of desire, his aspirations for what he wanted to accomplish materially are very high. Clouds emphasize how high his goals are on the one hand, while also indicating that his plans may be in the formative stage and are “cloudy.” All in all, it looks like a dream of what he wanted to carry out.
It is predicting he has the horsepower to do it. His ground game needs to be worked out as his plans could be in the sky and need to be grounded in reality. Once he works things out pragmatically, the sky is the limit.

A woman dreamed she rode a unicorn through a series of thorn bushes and meet a stranger that offered her help. The unicorn disappeared. There was a direction marker pointing south. A stranger appeared who was covered with oil. The stranger who was anointed with oil offered her the great advice that she herself could fly and did not need the unicorn in order to fly. Then she flew away and woke up.
Animals represent instinctive processes. A horse often represents female sexual power. Men have dreams of horses far less often than women. The unicorn brings the element of magic.
The dream portends that the dreamer’s journey through romantic relationships has been thorny. She had been hurt by galloping through situations that she hoped would magically lead to growth (bushes are plants), but had mostly led to her being hurt (the thorns). It is interesting that the most romantic flower, roses, grow on thorny bushes.
I like the idea of the stranger being sacred advice because he is anointed with oil. Being male, he is likely to be offering advice about future actions rather than it being strictly emotional advice. North is at the top of a map and in my mind would imply flight in this case. It is not a usual symbol, but I believe the emphasis is on not letting things “go south,” i.e., get even more negative, by magically hoping that her instincts would get her to where she wanted to go.
The revelation is that she could take flight, which has spiritual implications of her finding her higher self rather than hoping that following her instincts will magically lead her to higher ground away from thorny situations.
This dream was a gift and was giving specific information. If she was recovering from a relationship, or looking for a relationship, the implication was for her to take time out and focus on her higher self.
A woman dreamed she was in a gigantic cathedral whose ceiling went far into the sky. There were 3 five-year-old boys who ran over to a pew where she was. They were very excited and each wanted her to choose him.
She felt she had to touch each of their hands to pick the right one for her. She felt a massive energy exchange when she touched each one. She then had a second dream of a tiny loving puppy curled in her lap.
The dream starts out in a Cathedral so it is probably about spiritual choices. There are three young boys. 3 is the number of change because 3 people in a relationship is the most unstable situation .
The idea is that each of the little boys is a part of the dreamer’s psyche. They are action parts of her psyche because they are male. (Female characters tend to go with more emotional parts of the mind.)
The dream was predicting that the dreamer will pick a new course of action with spiritual implications. Puppies like kitties usually go with affections. Only puppies usually go more with men which again goes with an action part of the mind.
All in all, looking across the two dreams, they were probably predicting, I believe, that she was going to choose a new course of action which had spiritual implications that she was going to love. The energy exchange she felt when she passed her hand in front of each boy indicated that her choice will bring new energy into her life.

A woman had an elderly mother who had terminal brain cancer and was going through the process of dying. They were very close and her mother was emotionally dependent upon the dreamer. She was having many dreams per night that depicted every emotional situation she felt guilty about in her whole life. She wondered why she was having an onslaught of these dreams now.
Like everyone, the dreamer had a mother introject in her subconscious acquired from her experience as her mother’s child. It many times is the beginning basis of emotion. As her mother went through the process of passing, her subconscious was doing a life review of her emotions which was a way of helping her to cope with her mother’s illness. It was a process of helping her to stay emotionally whole while dealing with the expected loss of her mother.
When a parent is dying, past conflicts emerge from your subconscious for at least three reasons: (1) the subconscious sees it as a chance to resolve inner conflicting feelings, (2) the subconscious is looking out for the dreamer’s well-being because she would be able to handle the loss better having gone through this life review, and (3) the good memories will emerge more once her mother has passed because the conflicting feelings will be dimmed by this process. It is all a grand plan to help acceptance of the inevitable.
You can call it God, your higher self and/or your subconscious since I believe that it turns out that we all end up talking about the same thing.

A man dreamed that he looked out the window from his bedroom at night and saw flashing lights of different colors. When he went out to the door he was pulled up into the air by aliens. Dave called his body and the dreamer let them without resistance. He had the thought that he was being upgraded. He felt no pain. He returned to earth and went about his normal routine.
Colors are usually different emotions in dreams. That the dreamer was pulled into the air suggest that he was forced to go to a higher level and look at his emotions from a completely different perspective than what he was used to. The aliens are new unknown parts of himself.
The dream suggests that the way he was looking at his emotions now is different from the past. So different that in the beginning it felt alien; however, there were no real worries because his emotions were upgraded. It is likely that he was confronted with a very different and difficult emotional situation that was alien to him. His looking at the situation from a different and higher perspective allowed him to be emotionally upgraded so that he felt no pain.
Carl Jung thought that UFOs were a “mandela of divine possibility.” In other words, he thought it represented mankind’s hope that there was something out there, more than us, that was watching over us and interested in us. In many ways it represents the hope that there is more to life than what we see, which science has supported with the idea of dark matter. According to that theory, we see about 20% of the universe which is the part of the universe that are the effects of the dark matter. The truth is out there.

A house can represent the dreamer to some extent because it is the framework out of which one lives. This is especially the case if it was a house in which the dreamer once lived.
The ages the dreamer was when living in the house (from birth to five years old, from age 12 to 16 years old, etc.) is important. There is something about the dreamer’s present psychodynamics that is situationally similar to the dreamer’s earlier psychodynamics at a specific developmental stage reflected in the dream.
The different areas of the house correspond roughly to different areas of the dreamer’s life. Mental or intellectual processes are associated with the upper floors or roof. An open roof may be a comment on how open minded the dreamer’s mind is, how the dreamer does not protect his thoughts efficiently, or how incomplete and unfinished his or her thoughts are in the sense of being “under construction.”
The family room may be demonstrating family dynamics. The dining room can be associated with how people in the home nurture one another. The garage can represent how people plan to move within their lives.
The living room represents the dreamer’s living space in her life. The kitchen can stand for his creativity since the cook prepares nurturing and creative combinations of food in the kitchen. The subterranean basement can often be a sign of the subconscious because it underlies the reality of the dreamer’s life.
Buildings can signal different portions of the dreamer’s life. Resorts may represent the dreamer’s recreational life or may simply be a “last resort.” Skyscrapers indicate cosmopolitan interests.
Farms may represent ingrained hard work values or bucolic serenity. Universities and, in particular, high schools usually indicate what the dreamer needs to learn in life. Dreams cannot resist using “high school” as a place for your “higher self” to learn.
Dreams cannot resist the metaphor of trains and train stations as a place where you “get your life on track.” Terminals frequently mean where you want to get to in life before you die (before your life is terminated). Airports often signal movement toward higher or spiritual goals in the dreamer’s life.
Shopping malls are frequent in dreams. Dreams cannot resist the play upon words. Dreams often use shopping malls to show how the dreamer has been “mauled” (malled?) in life usually in the person’s career or business life as a shopping mall is a commercial community.
Apartments often suggest only a part, and probably a transitional part, is going to be addressed in the dream. The setting of the dream is almost always important, especially the initial setting. The opening scene often signals what the dream is going to be about. The setting shows the field or area of the dreamer’s life where the subconscious psychodynamics are going to be played out. The above meanings should be seen as tentative hypotheses that the dreamer can confirm or give additional information about.
